Insanity Calendar (60 Day Schedule To Results) Updated 2021

Insanity is probably the most well known Beachbody workout of all time it definitely put Beachbody on the map. The ability to burn up to 1,000 calories per workout is amazing in and of itself.

So get going on your way to healthy living and fitness. If you are a beginner make sure you take that fit test and see where you are at.

Also don't forget to checkout Shaun T's newer Insanity-like condensed workout in T-20 and wait until you see the Transform 20 Results!

Beachbody Insanity 60 Day Workout

This workout is the original insane workout program that whips your butt into shape. If you are wondering if this program can really burn 500 calories in a mere 40 minutes then you are about to be surprised.

This is the program I used to get into shape for my wedding back in 2012 and it had amazing results. Even if you don't follow the meal plan too closely just make sure at the end of the day your body is at a caloric deficit and you are eating well balanced meals.

What To Expect When You Start Insanity?

I will admit it the beginning will be tough for you unless you are in great shape. You hit the ground running with no modifications, but that's okay because you can take breaks as you will see throughout the program.

6 days a week can be a tough schedule to keep up, but you gotta get it done to get there in the 2 month window that is scheduled. Get through that first month and then you get an entire week to recover before getting into month 2. Recover week is a time to get your body to repair itself in preparation for the future rigors of month 2.

MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SKIP OVER THIS! I made that mistake my first time through and actually got better results my second time through when I performed the recover week.

Insanity Workout Program Review

Shaun T's message is clear for this program to kick your butt for 2 months so you can get in the best shape of your life. With only 8 weeks it makes it much easier to stick to then some 90 day programs and you can do this all in the comfort of your own home.

Just like a coach he will be pushing you and the programs on screen participants through the entirety of the routines. You get to see the cast go through the same rigors as you are even if they are in good shape they are still struggling as you will be too.

It's okay to create motivation by keeping up with them but in the end you are your only competition just show up, press play and try hard to do better then you did last time. Plus you get to compete with your fit test every two weeks to see if you truly are improving. A lot of people base there improvements only on weight loss and that is just not so you need to add in other factors and measurements just like this.

Max Interval Training – Taking High Intensity To A Whole Other Level

Shaun T will push you to that max for a few minutes then you will get that short break to bring your heart rate down just enough to get it cranked right back up again.

HIIT or high intensity interval training is nothing new but Shaun T takes it to a whole other level. There are studies out there that say with interval training you burn 5-9X more fat then just a traditional aerobic cardio workout well this definitely puts it to the test.

100% Weight Free! No Equipment Needed!

One of the reasons this workout program is so successful because you are burning 500+ calories without using any weights at all just your bodyweight.

This means you don't just have to workout in your home gym you can workout essentially anywhere you have a 8′ by 8′ space to use even the outdoors which I have done as well. You can take this workout with you on the road if you are on vacation or traveling in a hotel for work. It eliminates those excuses.

No other equipment is needed either. You will probably want towel and a water but that's it. If your floor is hard you may want to add a mat. I find myself working out in our barn every once in awhile so I have horse mats just for this. You can find them at your local tractor supply for like $30 and they are 6 foot by 4 feet and very heavy duty.

Now with Beachbody On Demand you don't even need the DVD's you can literally stream from anywhere. And some of you are probably saying well not anywhere I need the internet right? That's not even so you can download up to 7 days of workouts on your phone to take with you.

So If you are leaving on a trip to a remote cabin in the mountains with no service you can still take your week long workouts with you.

Who Is Insanity For?

  • Those looking for a quick 2 month workout routine that is going to challenge them to the max
  • Advanced Exercisers – even if you are advanced this workout program will give you what you need if you put the effort into it
  • People who need help eating healthy – the meal plan is great for his it shows you how to eat healthy and teaches healthy habits
  • Those who don't have weights in there home and want to start today because all you need to do is sign up and you can start RIGHT NOW!
  • People who don't workout in only one location you can do Insanity Workouts literally anywhere
  • Looking to get ripped in 60 days

Who Shouldn't Use Insanity?

  • Haven't ever worked before or done any cardio – you need to be able to do basic moves
  • Those that need modifiers – I am not saying you can't modify some of the workouts on your own, but you need to be giving max effort. Taking short breaks is okay
  • Need Non Impact Workouts – Insanity definitely puts your body through some impact exercises that can hurt somebody with bad knees for example. My dad has knee replacements and no way he is doing this workout
  • Can't workout for up to 60 minutes – 60 minutes can be a long time maybe you should look at Transform 20, T25 or Insanity Max:30
  • Will Not Eat Healthy – if you don't eat healthy you won't get the gains this work deserves. Plus you will not feel good while doing the workouts.
  • Those looking to gain mass should look else were you burn too many calories during these workouts. Check out Body Beast for putting on mass.

Insanity Results

You can expect great results if you stick to the nutritional plan and keep your calories at a deficit along with hitting up these workouts for 60 days. I did it and know anybody else can.

I used Insanity to get into shape for our destination wedding in Jamaica. It does make it easier to stay committed when you have an exact goal and date to reach it. So maybe try that out if you have a beach vacation coming up or a class or family reunion just do it. Set the date and the goal and go for. You have nothing to lose but weight and even if you don't reach your number goal you will still be a lot better off then you are today.

When you are burning upwards of 1,000 calories during an hour for some of these workouts over the course of two months it makes it hard not to get great results even if you don't change your meal plan just don't increase your calories you will still get results.

Just try to eat healthier overall maybe just cut back on going out or eating fast food. Let's say you go out to eat 3 times a week simply cut that to 1 time a week and have the other meals be homemade or prepped healthy meals. Simple changes like this make all the difference for the short and long term.

Also what you can't do if you are eating lets say 2,500 calories a day and you start this program. It is not a good idea to cut back to 1,500 calories a day then do these grueling workouts. You are not going to have the energy to do them for one and your body might not like it and your metabolism could shut down. If anything cut back 250 calories a week to let your body adapt slowly.

A lot of people on our team have had great result by doing this exact method. Beachbody has some great supplements and Shakeology is also a great meal replacement that will help keep you healthy and energized. You should look to take an after workout recovery drink like Shakeology even if it is something different just use what works for you.

OTHER RESULTS

This is Erica Johnson who lost 20 pounds in the 60 Day Insanity Program. She also managed to $500 for a Beachbody Challenge.

Some of the thing she had to say about the program:

“What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
Shaun T was a great motivator and results happened quickly, which kept me motivated to continue! I also really liked that I did not need any additional equipment.”

“Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I am only six pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, and only eight pounds from my goal weight. I have lost 20 inches overall, and I fit into clothes I haven’t been able to since before getting pregnant with my son. The “result” I am most proud of is that over that last couple of months my son watched my husband and I work out together every night, and he would know when we got our workout clothes on what was about to happen. He would run to the TV and shout “Let’s go!” He is not even two yet, but he was influenced by our lifestyle choice to work out and eat healthy, and that makes me the most proud, even over the amazing physical results I achieved!”

Month 1 Of Insanity

Focuses mostly on HIIT training where the workouts are about 30-40 minutes long on average. These get you ramped up and in shape for the coming month.

But first you need to get to that recovery week to heal your body and break through any plateaus.

Recovery Week

So many people skip this portion of the program and you never should do that. It is hear for a reason and can and will hinder your results.

When you get into a routine your body adjusts whether it be working out or sitting on your but all the time. The way you break through that wall is adapt and adjust or shock your body.

This enables your body to recover kind of like a sling shot when you are pulling it back then in month two you get to release that slingshot forward to your new body.

Month 2 Of Insanity

This month not only does the intensity go up a bit the minutes of each workout go up a bit to 60 minutes each day.

The Fit Test

The fit test will show how far you have come along. That will be based on that first time going through it. From then on you will do them 2-3 times a month.

This I feel is much better then tracking just your weight as you are really seeing the progress through these moves and how many more can you do. By the end you will be very proud of yourself.

Isanity Hybrid Challenges

If you get through Insanity or do a few rounds and are looking for another challenge but don't want to get too far away from Insanity. Then all you have to do is look out for the hybrid workouts that are coming out all the time.

  • Asylum Insanity Hybrid
  • P90X Insanity Hybrid
  • Body Beast Insanity Hybrid

Also check out Shaun T's other workouts including Insanity Max:30 and Transform 20. The newest workout by beachbody that I am doing at this time is 6 Weeks Of The Work that is very intense and for advanced.

Insanity Max 30 (Shorter Version Of Insanity)

If you just don't have the time to put into the original Insanity you can always look at Insanity Max: 30. It is similar to the original just little to no breaks and less time.

The difference is you are really looking to max out so you have to take that break on your own. Once you do this you get right back in until you need another break.

Also there is a modifier for these so even if you get to a certain point where you would usually take a break in the original insanity here you can just transition over to the modifier.

This workout you still also don't need any equipment.

Transform 20 (Only 20 Minutes)

Shaun T himself says this is Insanity just ad a step. Yes you need a step up box but that little step makes it that much tougher and the reason the workouts are condensed to 20 minutes.

There also is a modifier for these workouts so any level can get into them.

6 Weeks Of The Work

This isn't Shaun T and also not for the faint of heart. As this workout is the first one in Beachbody to have cuss words in it. But don't bash it because of that there is also the PG version in case you workout with your kids like I do at times.

These workouts do involve dumbbells, bands, and strength glides (pull up bar optional)

You will see amazing results in even less time then Insanity. Why is that because working out has evolved so you are using a lot of what is called functional exercise.

Amoila Cesar the trainer has worked with world renown athletes to get them in shape for sports such as basketball and he will now do the same for you.

It is basically 5 days a week with a Range and Recover workout. The workouts average around 40-50 minutes and you feel every minute of it.
