Tips for increasing your weights with Dumbbell Bench Press
There are a few things you can do to increase the weight you are able to bench press with dumbbells.
- Make sure you are using a weight that is challenging for you. If the weight is too easy, then you won't be able to progress very quickly.
- Increase the number of reps you do with a given weight. This will help increase your strength and allow you to lift more weight in the future.
- Try incorporating explosive movements into your routine. This will help increase your power and allow you to lift more weight.
- Make sure you are well-rested before attempting a heavy lift. If you are tired or sick, then the weight will be much harder to lift.
The best way to maximize your chest development (Other Exercises)
There are a number of other exercises that you can do to strengthen your chest muscles. Some of my favorites include the barbell bench press, the cable crossover, and the pushup.
The barbell bench press is a great exercise for developing the chest muscles. You start by lying flat on your back on a bench with your feet flat on the ground. Then you slowly lift the weights to your chest while keeping your elbows close to your body. You press the weights back up to the starting position and repeat.
The cable crossover is another great exercise for developing the chest muscles. You start by standing in front of two cables with a weight in each hand. Then you pull the cables across your body until they meet in the middle. You should feel a strong contraction in your chest muscles at the top of the movement.
The pushup is my favorite exercise for developing the chest muscles. It is a great exercise that can be done anywhere, and it doesn't require any equipment. You start by lying flat on your stomach with your hands positioned shoulder-width apart. Then you press yourself up to the starting position and repeat.
